The Fairfield campus was formerly home to the Infectious Diseases Hospital, which was closed in 1996. When NMIT moved its Horticulture program from Parkville to Fairfield in 2004, it became NMIT’s second largest campus with over 2,000 students.
Yarra House occupies the site of the hospital’s residential nurses’ quarters. In 2010, the building was completely revamped to bring you NMIT’s first ever on-campus student accommodation.
